Slight figure- very delicate and not too active lifestyle-wise
Afraid of Lightning
Loves books and learning and music
Terrible at dancing, speaking in public, making important decisions, etc.
Because she is very stubborn, Mira often keeps following the path she sets on, even if she knows that it’s taking a turn for the worse.

Oh my goodness! clockstrikesblack’s character description of her protagonist, Emeline De Vane (sorry, I spelled her name wrong on the picture!), was so cool that I had to draw it D:

It’s awesome characters like this that make stories worth reading C: Good characters need to be complex, and from this description, Emeline sounds wonderfully so! <3

A quick sketchy-sketch of what I imagine (kinda) my protagonist, Mira, to look like! I’m not really good with the realistic style as I’m actually more familiar with the manga style, but meh, here’s my effort! If you want her bio, read on. If you don’t, well… don’t! <3

Mira is a very down to earth girl- she has a quick wit and a sharp tongue which strongly contrast with her delicate feelings and strong sense of compassion. She is the descendent of House Starling, much to her ignorance, and a possible candidate for the throne. She is unfamiliar with Tyrria (the kingdom in the other world) as she was raised in our world. A tough cookie, she will go down fighting.

Okay, so, I already told you guys how this is my tumblr. for my writing journey, so it’s about time I start talking about it!

So, I suppose a short (I hope) synopsis of what I plan for my novel to be about is in order.

To put it simply, I’m trying to create a fairy tale for the modern age- one that incorporates the fantastic, magical world with more gritty, not-so-traditional fairy tale elements that align more with typical fantasy genres. It has several important elements for fairy tales, such as Good and Bad characters, elements of 3’s and 7’s, Royalty and other aristocracy, and the huge overarching problem which the protagonist overcomes (which, in my opinion, should be the main element of any story, not just fairy tales). I don’t want my story to be reminiscent of Disney renditions of tales, but to call back to the original stories, where everything isn’t so covered and drowned in sugar and rainbows. I mean, don’t get me wrong- I absolutely LOVE Disney; I just want a more refreshing take on the whole concept.

Yes, that was actually quite long, I know… I’m sorry! OTL

But, yes, that will be the small little taste I expose you to for now.
Oh! Also, as a means of keeping track for myself, the first chapter is finished with a little over 3,500 words. All of you who are writing as well, keep at it, and have fun with it! Story telling is an art, not a chore<3

Hello, everyone! Always in search of new inspiring music to get you in the writing mood? Well, here’s one of my personal favorites for getting my mind into a fantastical state. Elizavita was a happenstance find for me- I was just browsing iTunes one day and found her in the singer/songwriter section. I immediately fell in love with her and bought her album. Of course, you’re more than welcome to just go onto youtube and look at her songs- they’re really nice!

She mixes a feel of pop and opera together and her songs are quite whimsical; I always imagine myself being thrown back to the Victorian Period, only with magic and good stuff like that. What do you get from her music? Rather, what are some of YOUR inspirational writing tunes?

Beginnings

Hello, everyone! I don’t know how you guys feel, but I think of the beginning of the writing process as both exciting and intimidating- especially creating a novel! But one thing I can say is that this will definitely be the adventure worth having. I hope those of you who are in the same boat as me are ready to gear up for a crazy ride- we’re going to need to put in a lot of blood sweat and tears. Good luck to one and all!
